The History Of Muhammadu Buhari $ His Career/ Awards

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the first set of appointments into his administration.

The President on Sunday evening, named Mr Femi Adesina and Mal. Garba Shehu as his spokesmen. Femi Adesina will serve as Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) while Garba Shehu will be the new Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity).

The President has also approved the appointment of Mal. Lawal Abdullahi Kazaure as the State Chief of Protocol (SCOP).

Mr Adesina is the current President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) and serves as the Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of The Sun newspapers.

Garba Shehu served as the Director, Media and Publicity of the APC Presidential Campaign Council. He was the President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors sixteen years ago.
Abdullahi Kazaure is a career Foreign Service official and currently serves in Aso Rock Villa as a Special Assistant (Presidential Matters).

There was a fatal accident in Onitsha this afternoon. A Tanker laden with fuel which was coming from Awka and moving towards Asaba failed brake at the ever busy Asaba Park at Upper Iweka, Onitsha and exploded upon crashing into the park, burning more than 20 people beyond recognition and also burning 10 commercial buses parked at the park. Most of the dead bodies have been deposited at the Toronto Hospital Morgue by FRSC Officials. See the photos but but please be warned, it's horrific..

There are many sides to everybody. For Tonto Dikeh, it seems the side that is well known is the wild one. Controversial as many may think this singer and actress is, she does have her subtle side and she laid it on the line for everyone to see in an Instagram post on Wednesday by telling whoever cares to listen her story of humble beginning.

“Growing up life was not easy, not after I lost my mom at the age of three. Though I thank my step mom for keeping up with my rudeness and stubbornness. Sometimes, I felt like killing myself but God saw me through that stage in my life and sometimes I sit and ask God why me?
At the age of twenty, I said to myself `I wouldn’t ask my dad for money- I wanted to be independent. I tried traveling to UK but I got refused at Nigerian Embassy, not because my documents were not complete but because I didn’t have the connection to pass through.

University life was so hard for me, handouts I could not afford, I begged from hand to mouth just to eat! Sometimes, I considered going back to my dad but ego and pride wouldn’t let me. Then, all my jeans were Alaba bend-down-select. If the jeans was longer than me I would cut it to my size to make it look rugged! If I asked friends for a favour, before they helped they would ask me to do something for them in return, like cleaning their rooms, or helping with course work”

Tonto then went on to advise her fans never to give up in their struggle to make it in life. For sometime now, Tonto has been engaging in a soft kind of motivational talks on social media, showing people there might be another side to the controversial figure we all hate to love.

A middle- aged man is currently being detained by operatives of Edo State Police Command for allegedly siphoning diesel from a truck belonging to a beverage company located at Ikpoba Hill, in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the State.

It was gathered that the suspect was caught at about 4 : 00 am on 27 May by a vigilant night guard in the area , who noticed a flow of diesel on the ground close to where the truck was parked.

He allegedly traced the flow to the truck where he found the suspect channelling the petroleum product into waiting jerry cans .

Sighting the night guard, the suspect was said to have fled the scene , but the guard who raised an alarm, later overpowered him after a hot chase .

The alarm raised by the night guard was said to have drawn the attention of residents and traders in the area who descended on the suspect.

Timely intervention of policemen from Aduwawa police division however saved him from being lynched and later whisked away .

An eyewitness who does not want his name in print, said the suspect confessed that he belonged to a syndicate specialised in stealing petroleum products from packed trucks in the area .

“He ( suspect) confessed that there are other people in the same business with him and that they have stolen more than 1 , 000 litres before .

The truck belongs to one Mr . Imafidon and the guard who caught him said that he has been looking for those boys for sometime now .

“The residents, especially truck drivers , were angry after he demonstrated how he siphons the product. So, they tied him up and put the hoose in his mouth , ” the source added .

When contacted , Edo Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Stephen Onwochei , said he was yet to be briefed on the incident . He however added that the matter could have been handled by the Divisional Police Officer , based on the level of the offence .

“I have not been briefed on that . But, obviously, it is a case of stealing which the division can handle, ” Onwochei said .
