Kimberly Smith was driving alone Sunday morning through Texas when she lost control of her vehicle and rolled it three times. Somewhat alert but completely confused, Kimberly was trapped upside down in her crumpled car, hoping someone would see her and come to her rescue.
Pinned and terrified inside her mangled ride on the morning of September 27, Kimberly was relieved to see someone coming toward her to help. The seemingly good Samaritan — described as a “tall, skinny black male in his 30’s” — approached her and said he would call 911, according to a Facebook post made by Kimberly’s brother Joshua Smith.
The stranger had crossed over some debris from the wreck as he walked toward Kimberly, picking up some of her personal belongings en route to tell her that he was there to help.
Not wanting to be left alone in the terrifying position, Kimberly begged the stranger to stay with her. The man reassured her not to worry, saying he wasn’t going anywhere, when in fact he was.
According to Joshua, with his sister’s wallet still in hand, the stranger went back to his car on the claim of calling police, but instead, he took off with her cash, cards, and identification.
Joshua exclaimed with complete disgust for what this man did and what other passersby didn’t do.
This “black male” saw a vulnerable woman, and rather than helping her, he took it as an opportunity to rob her. Knowing she was trapped and injured, he took off and surely didn’t call police, since he just stole from her. Cars continued to whiz by, not bothering to stop, even though her rolled car was out in plain sight. Then, by the grace of God, someone with a good heart actually stopped and got her the medical attention she desperately needed and even waited with her for emergency services to show up.
Kimberly was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, which, as she said herself, is “nothing short of a miracle,” considering the double dose of trauma she endured that morning.
Her brother was very angry at what happened to his sister and took her account of the incident to social media in hopes his blast will result in identifying the disgusting thief and bring him to justice.
