A jilted young man has shot death his ex-girlfriend and her groom on their wedding day.
A young man who felt hurt at being dumped by his girlfriend for another man has thrown the sleepy Ukala community in Delta State into mourning and confusion when he stormed the venue of a wedding involving the lady and her new man, shooting the couple and other people in a random spree.

The ex-lover boy, who was angry that the lady getting married dumped him, allegedly shot indiscriminately at people who were gathered to celebrate the marriage after he was said to have succeeded in snuffing live out of the wedding couple.

It was reliably gathered that the ill-fated wedding, the venue, which was also to serve as reception for the guests, was laid waste when trouble started immediately after the couple’s first dance.

Sources said that trouble started when the bride identified as Stephany, a graduate of Office Management and Technology from one of the polytechnics in the state, had informed her boyfriend whose name was given as Teddy that she was getting fed up of their eight years old courtship and for that reason will want it materialised into marriage.

Her reasons, informed sources said, was for their immediate marriage since her lover (Teddy) had been able to secure a job and she was already working. This, according to her was because her course mates were equally married. Accordingly, Teddy was said to have celebrated the idea and both of them started working towards the success of their plan until suddenly, the bride’s mother came to introduce another man reported to have been based in the United Kingdom and a business man who, since December, has been in Nigeria. He was said to have come home to celebrate with his extended family from a neighbouring village.

According to sources, the bride’s mother, who was a teacher before she was allegedly shot dead, had been told by one of her friends that one of her cousins from United Kingdom was in need of a wife to marry. That was why she lured her daughter into the ill-fated marriage.
