The Deputy Senate president, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, has staked a whopping 5 million naira for any Council area in his Enugu west senatorial district that garners the highest number of votes for the peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the February general elections.

According to Ekweremadu, each of the five elections which includes presidential, Senate, House of Representatives, Governorship, and state Assembly will be 1million NAIRA each amounting to a total of 5 million in the whole.
He added that a 200 KVA transformer will also be presented to any political ward that cast the highest number of votes for the PDP during the elections.

In his speech at Ezeagu local government area of Enugu state, during a PDP campaign rally, Ekweremadu, said the gesture is part of measure to encourage the party faithful in his district to cast their votes for all their candidates during the polls.The Local government areas under Enugu west senatorial zone are, Udi, Ezeagu, Aninri, Awgu and Oji River.

He, however, charged the people of the area to remain steadfast and loyal to the PDP, assuring that the party will continue to protect their interest both at the state and national levels.
In separate speeches, Enugu state governor, Sullivan Chime, the PDP governorship candidate in the February election, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, among other speakers, had called on the people to vote for the PDP candidates during the February polls.
