Prior to this story, I could almost swear that easterners place more value on male children.
The buyer of the quartet women that have been arrested by police at the Ogidi, Idemili North Central Local Government Area of Anambra for allegedly stealing, selling and buying of a two-month old baby at Nnewi confessed that her need for a female child prompted her to take the action.
In her words, "I have a male child, but I want a female that will look after me when i become old" The buyer who was to buy the baby for N625,000 said that her husband consented to the buyinG.
The baby girl who was stolen from her mother has since been recovered by the police, according to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ogidi Police Stations while serious efforts her being made to intensify the search for the mother.
