While a lot of things in the world change, what should never change is the fact that parents and extended family members look out for and protect children. The roles that adults are supposed to have when it comes to children within their immediate and extended family, while they may differ as aunties, uncles, grandparents, or older siblings end up raising children, are still very straightforward.
Family members are supposed to keep kids safe and teach them the skills they will need to become successful and contributing members of society as adults. But the truth is that a lot of families out there, either as a whole or as individual members, don't always live up to what is asked of them. In a lot of families, certain family members just should not be around children.
Sometimes a family member just isn't a good influence for the children in a family. And, because it is the responsibility of their parents or other family members to ensure that kids are safe and just allowed to be kids as much as possible, these individuals should not be around children. There are a lot of cases of family members neglecting children, sexually, physically, or emotionally abusing children, and making really terrible judgment calls when it comes to the care of children in the family. Sometimes the issues that these family members have stem from alcohol or drug abuse or some other type of trauma that they have experienced in their lives. Yet there is never an excuse to put children into adult situations or to put them into situations that are simply unsafe.

It isn't clear what led the uncle in this story to think that this was a good idea. But it is clear that he has no sense of what is and what is not appropriate for a child. This terrible human being thought that it would be a good idea to get his 5-year-old nephew a lap dance for his birthday. There are so many things wrong with this that it is difficult to even begin putting a list together. What can be said with certainty and clarity is that this child's uncle should not be around his nephew ever again. This child's parents and other family members should have kept him safe. Again, a child should never be put into an adult situation, especially an overtly sexual adult situation. This is just absolutely sickening. What do ya'll think about what this uncle did?!
