Situations could make people do things they would ordinarily not do and it’s not only in movies that such things happen. Saturday PUNCH learned of the case of a couple who wanted to start a business in Lagos but had no money to do so. They approached a businessman for help and his only condition to bail them out was to sleep with the man’s wife. He even said the man could witness the scene. Some Nigerians were asked if they would let someone sleep with their spouses in their presence for N10m.

Even for N1bn, I won’t
Solomon Matthew

One truth that I have come to realise in life is that
money doesn’t solve problems. Ideas and the
application of one’s creativity are the solutions to
man’s problems. Why would I give my wife to another
man to sleep with because of money? I cannot do it.
No matter how poor I am, I cannot do it – even for
N1bn. Those who can do such a thing can as well do
anything evil to make money. As for me, it is better to
die poor as an upright man than die rich as an
unscrupulous one.

I’ll not allow it
Nwachukwu Bella

My husband is like gold that I cherish so much and I
won’t let a ‘baby mama’ somewhere do that to him. I
believe it’s only when a woman does not make her
husband feel loved that the man will go outside. When
there is true love, money doesn’t dictate how couples
react to situations. It’s an ungodly act. I can’t let my
spouse sleep secretly with another woman for money
not to talk of in my very presence. I will just commit
suicide, or let’s say that’s an exaggeration, I will
simply quit the marriage. Any man that chooses
money over a woman’s love is not worthy of living
with.

It’s slavery mentality
Oyelade Eyitayo

That idea is sickening and it can never occur to me.
That’s like selling my wife. It is a slavery mentality.
Anything you sell and then get back again would have
lost its value. To be sincere, I can never love my life
like I used to if that should happen. Perhaps we need
someone’s help and he asked for my wife to sleep with
him, to hell with his money. I would rather die than
subject my wife to such a thing. But if she wants to do
it, she can, but she should know that that is the end of
our marriage.

It’s shameful
Timi Sumbiri

This is not only a disgusting act, but it tells of the loss
of virtue among some people. Why should you ask
another woman’s husband to sleep with you before you
can offer any form of help? I will not let my husband
do it; he dare not even think of it. But wait a minute,
what if the woman is not asking to do it in my
presence and my husband doesn’t even tell me? It’s a
complicated issue, but I just pray one will not fall into
that kind of temptation.

I can’t do it
Taiwo Olufemi

No matter the situation I’m in, I cannot do it. Any man
that wants to do such a thing to my wife is evil. It’s
lack of moral values that would make a man request
for such. Even for the wealth and riches of the whole
world, I will never let my wife do such. I even trust her,
she is not a cheap woman and I am also not a cheap
man. You know it’s in situations like that that your
brain starts booting of ideas. We are going to find out
what to do to get out of that situation and hopefully, if
we work hard, we are going to make it too. Only
desperation and worthlessness will make people fall
for that kind of money.

Money isn’t my lord
Oloruntomi Adeleke

I don’t need such money. The things that men do to
have money at times make me wonder whether they
don’t have conscience. How could you want to sleep
with my husband because we probably need a favour
from you? That’s an insult on my husband and me. I’ll
encourage my husband to let us keep working hard
and think smartly so that we can make our own money
without having to be insulted by one ‘sugar mummy’
out there. Moreover, anyone that wants such a thing
from another person’s spouse is perhaps a ritualist.

I can’t sell my wife
Tobi Goke

That’s like going into bondage with my eyes wide
open. It is definitely not possible. I like money and I
think everybody does, but to go to an extent of letting
another man have sex with my wife in my presence is
what I can never do. I will never sell my wife.
Whatever we need the money for will have to wait
until we find someone who will genuinely help us. If
such help never comes, it’s all good. We cannot allow
a mere man steal our home because of money.

It can never happen
Oluwadara Akinbola

Even without my husband, I can make much more
money than that if I put my potentials to use let alone
when both of us put our heads together. Seriously,
only lazy and desperate folks would fall for that kind
of temptation. Men are tempted out of their own
inordinate desires. Maybe that kind of request will
propel me to think and work harder, who knows? But
to let another woman sleep with my ‘own body’ (my
husband) is something that can never happen.

Only if our marriage is money-oriented
Biebele Kiakubu

I will do it if our marriage is only money-oriented in the
first place. You know it happens. A couple could marry
each other to further their career or business
ambitions, not necessarily because they love each
other. I have seen many cases like that. Likewise, if I
have a wife who is interested in the deal, I will let her
do it. We’ll both share the money. However, if I have a
real wife, someone I truly love, I can kill a man who
wants to sleep with her for money because that’s even
a bigger sin than adultery.

Let him decide
Rhodaline Mieseigha

The decision to sleep with another woman because of
money is mainly that of my husband. Of course, I am
not saying I am going to agree or disagree, but you
can never predict or tell what a man should do. My
husband has his own conscience; if it pleases him to
do it, there is nothing I can do stop him. We’ve all
heard about men that carry women to their
matrimonial rooms, so what does that say? But one
thing is, if it ever happens, it means I’ll kiss my
husband goodbye.
