On Wednesday, Feb. 4th the Conference of Catholic Priests in Taraba State issued a condition to the government concerning the casting of votes by the lay faithfuls. Rev. Fr. Paul Kangkai said during an interactive session with some governorship candidates in Taraba that they could not afford to waste their votes on any candidate that is not going to perform. in his own words;
"The church is not going to gamble with the votes of members. Any governorship candidate seeking our vote should be ready to tackle insecurity. Taraba is today grounded with insecurity. Many of our parishes across the state have been completely burnt and our priests and parishioners now refugees,"
