The All Progressives Congress, APC, standard bearer, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja early Friday morning after spending two weeks at the United Kingdom and immediately told reporters who accosted him that he was physically and mentally fit to lead Nigeria.
DAILY POST recalls that Buhari on Thursday, February 19, 2015 travelled out of the country for London.
The trip was however trailed by arguments concerning his health status as supporters of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and President Goodluck Jonathan led by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State claimed that the journey was to allow him seek medical attention in London.
Asked whether he went abroad to seek medical attention, Buhari said he actually took some time off the campaigns to get some rest, saying, “I just went off for a couple of weeks to rest. That’s all I did”.
Pressed further by newsmen whether he actually visited any hospital while holidaying in the UK, he asked: “What is wrong for me to go the hospital? Am I not here now? Aren’t you seeing me? Are you seeing a sick man?
Buhari was accompanied back to Nigeria by the Deputy Director-General of his campaign organization, Senator Olurumbe Mamora, and was received by a horde of other APC chieftains and supporters at the airport.
