
Reports emanating from Abia indicate that a woman was caught yesterday, during the governorship and state assembly elections with a food cooler allegedly stuffed with ballot papers.
The unfortunate incident which occurred in Arochukwu, Abia state, revealed that the woman who in an attempt to avoid being arrested, said the cooler contained food meant for one of the party agents.
But upon examination by security agents, it was discovered that the cooler contained ballot papers.
The suspect’s arrest came on the heels of allegations of existence of fake result sheets and ballot papers in some polling units in the area.
Similarly, voting was also marred by failure of card readers in Abiriba, Nkporo and many wards in Ohafia.
Consequently, the election in the affected areas has been rescheduled for today.
