Immediate past Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has been elected Deputy Senate President.
He
was nominated by Abie Sekibo from Rivers State. Mr. Ekweremadu is a
member of the minority Peoples Democratic Party. He was elected in a
apparent power sharing deal that had the influential-minority PDP back
the new senate president, Bukola Saraki.
